Mrs. Herdsman is a dedicated and experienced educational leader who has spent more than 25 years supporting students, educators, and school communities. Throughout her career as a teacher, vice-principal, principal, and superintendent, she has led with warmth, integrity, and a strong belief in every child's potential.
Most recently, Mrs. Herdsman served as Superintendent of Education for Student Achievement and Well-Being, where she provided leadership in advancing student learning, well-being, and school improvement. She has also served as a principal and vice-principal in elementary and French Immersion schools, leading diverse communities and working closely with families, staff, and community partners.
Mrs. Herdsman is passionate about creating schools where students feel safe, valued, included, and inspired to learn. Her leadership is grounded in strong relationships, collaboration, high expectations, and a commitment to ensuring that each student receives the support and encouragement needed to thrive. She brings extensive experience in instructional leadership, literacy and numeracy, equity and inclusion, multilingual learners, staff development, and family engagement.
Mrs. Herdsman holds a Master of Education in Critical Literacy and has completed Ontario's Principal's Qualification Program and Supervisory Officer's Qualification Program. She looks forward to bringing her collaborative, student-centred approach to Globe Cambridge School and working alongside students, families, faculty, and staff to build upon the school's strengths and create an exceptional learning environment.
Since joining Globe Cambridge School, Ms. Dennison has brought more than thirty years of experience as a teacher and administrator to her leadership of the Elementary Division. A seasoned educator across both public and independent school sectors, she is recognized for her ability to combine academic rigor with a caring and inclusive approach.
With degrees in Modern Languages, Linguistics, and English Literature, and training in the IB Primary Years Programme and IB Coordinator Certification, Ms. Dennison is deeply committed to inquiry-based learning. Her international career—spanning China, Indonesia, Norway, the Netherlands, and Germany—gives her a truly global perspective, which she brings into the classroom and the broader school community.
As Head of Elementary, she works closely with her colleagues to ensure excellence across academics and co-curricular programs, while inspiring our youngest learners to grow in confidence, curiosity, and compassion.
