Academics

Preparatory School (SK)

Welcome

At Globe Cambridge School, our Preparatory Program is a school-based entry point, designed for children aged 5–6 who are ready to begin their academic journey.

This program is not a daycare or childcare setting, but the first stage of structured learning within the GCS academic continuum.

Grounded in the Ontario Kindergarten framework and aligned with the IB Primary Years philosophy, the program intentionally supports children’s development across four key areas:

Language and early literacy
Mathematical thinking and problem-solving
Social-emotional growth and self-regulation
Curiosity, inquiry, and early global awareness

Through a balance of intentional play, guided instruction, and inquiry-based learning, students build strong foundations in communication, numeracy, and classroom readiness.

Specialist subjects such as French, music, visual arts, movement, and outdoor learning enrich the program, supporting creativity, confidence, and early independence.

The GCS Preparatory School prepares students to transition seamlessly into our IB Primary Years (Grade 1–5) and continue through our Pre-AP and AP pathways with confidence and continuity.
