The Free Afterschool Experience Program invites prospective students to explore the breadth of learning opportunities offered at Globe Cambridge School through structured, guided trial sessions held after school.
This program is designed to provide authentic exposure to our academic, artistic, and language offerings beyond the regular school day. Through participation in a range of subject-based experiences, students gain insight into our teaching approach, enrichment philosophy, and supportive learning environment.
Program Areas
Participants will experience a rotating selection of afterschool trial sessions, thoughtfully designed according to age and learning stage. Program areas may include:
Academic Foundations & Enrichment
English Reading & Writing:Focus on reading comprehension, critical thinking, and creative expression.
Mathematics & Problem Solving:Activities designed to build logical reasoning, mathematical confidence, and conceptual understanding.
Sciences & STEM Exploration:Hands-on learning that introduces core scientific concepts and inquiry-based thinking.
SSAT & ACT Skills Introduction (Exploratory):Introductory exposure to the structure, expectations, and core skills associated with standardized assessments such as the SSAT and ACT, with an emphasis on analytical thinking, academic readiness, and test literacy rather than test drilling.
English & OSSLT Preparation (Introductory):Exposure to analytical reading, structured writing, and academic literacy skills.
Language Learning (Second Language Programs):Students may explore second-language learning through introductory sessions in: Mandarin, French, Spanish, Sessions emphasize listening, speaking, reading, and writing development, while fostering cultural awareness and communication confidence.
Arts & Creative Learning
Art Fundamentals:Exploration of composition, color, perspective, drawing, painting, and sculpture to build artistic literacy and visual awareness.
Art Portfolio Exploration (Introductory):Exposure to portfolio-based creative thinking, including visual arts, illustration, design concepts, and digital creativity.
Creative Pathways Awareness:Introductory experiences related to areas such as animation, game design, visual communication, film, and digital media, helping students understand how creative interests may develop into future academic pathways.
Program Experience
Students participate in afterschool sessions within a structured yet relaxed environment led by experienced educators. Activities are designed to encourage curiosity, participation, and exploration rather than formal assessment.
